EMFD fights early morning car fire

East Meadow Firefighters from Engines 611, 612, and Heavy Rescue 616, were alerted to a car fire on Merrick Avenue at Charles Lindbergh Blvd at 4:53 a.m. on Feb. 19.

Arriving Chiefs and Firefighters found a car heavily involved in fire.

The fire was extinguished by the crew of Engine Company 2, as Ladder 1 members used hydraulics tools to open areas of the vehicle for the final extinguishments. There were no injuries.
