Levittown schools lockout ends after three hour police investigation of hit-and-run near Wisdom Lane

UPDATE: The Levittown School District lifted their lockout around noon this afternoon.

The Nassau County Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Levittown with one of the motorists fleeing the scene on foot.

According to police, the accident occurred somewhere near Shelter Lane around Wisdom Lane Middle School five minutes after 9 a.m.

Due to police investigation of the accident, all schools in the Levittown School District were placed on lockout, meaning no students can enter or leave any school building. The lockout was lifted around noon.
