Stew Leonard’s kicks off the holiday season

Santa Claus made an early visit to East Meadow at Stew Leonard’s on Nov. 28 during the supermarket’s celebration to kick off the holiday season.

Attendees met the Stew Leonard’s mascot “Wow the Cow” and greeted Santa when he arrived on a fire truck with the East Meadow Fire Department.

The Meadowbrook Elementary School chorus and Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc.’s Holiday Choir were also featured performing holiday classics. FREE was founded in 1977 and provides assistance and support to 4,000 individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness and traumatic brain injury.

While complications prevented the lighting of Stew Leonard’s Christmas Tree, the festivities continued as guests socialized and enjoyed complimentary refreshments.
