Property Tax Exemptions Workshop

Legislator Thomas McKevitt (R, D-13) will host a workshop on property tax exemptions at the East Meadow Public Library on Aug. 16 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you are a homeowner who disagrees with the new tentative property tax assessment on your residence you may dispute the assessed value. You do not have to pay a law firm or agency to file a grievance. McKevitt invites you to attend this workshop to help you file a property tax assessment grievance application. At the workshop, a representative from the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission will show residents how to use Assessment Review’s online tools to file a challenge online or via mail. Reservations are not necessary. For information on your specific property, please visit: LRV.nassaucountyny.gov.
