Mary Malloy/Herald

Eighteen puppies were taken from Shake A Paw pet store at 1 Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook between the hours of 12 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 23. The puppies were of various breeds and are valued at $21,000, according to the Lynbrook Police Department.

Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department Fourth Squad are currently investigating the burglary, in which one person, wearing a hood, pried open the store’s rear door to gain entrance, according to police.

Police could not provide a description of the suspect at this time and said no vehicle was seen.
