Lynbrook is seeing an influx of new businesses lately, the most recent and most exciting being the car dealerships that will soon dot Sunrise Highway.
Mayor Bill Hendrick said he is pleased that not only are these dealerships coming to Lynbrook, but in addition, the current Volkswagen dealership is expanding to give them additional space on Merrick Road — in conjunction with their Sunrise Highway location department.
In addition, the Ford dealership on Merrick Road completes the array of car dealerships in Lynbrook.
“It’s wonderful that Lynbrook is the place to be for a complete array of outstanding car dealerships and choices.”
Ed Parlow, the long-time general manager of South Shore Honda, said that he’s very pleased with the move, and believes the location is optimum for his type of business.

“I’m looking forward to coming into the Lynbrook community,” he said. “We have a lot of loyal customers in the area, and look forward to servicing our new clientele.”

Below is a list of dealerships and their current status:
South Shore Honda: They are in the process of building a new dealership on Sunrise Highway at the former site of the art store next to IHop. They are moving from Merrick Road in Valley Stream to Lynbrook.

Acura of Valley Stream (same owner as South Shore Honda): They are also in the process of building a new dealership on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook at the previous site of the Ethan Allen Furniture Store. They are moving from Merrick Road in Valley Stream to Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

The Queens Ford/Lincoln used car dealership on Merrick Road in Valley Stream is moving to their main dealership in Queens. In it’s place, a Mazda dealership is moving into that location.
Construction on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook: The Infiniti of Lynbrook dealership was knocked down, and a new building is being erected. Audi of Lynbrook is moving into that new building. Then, the current Audi of Lynbrook building will be demolished. A new building is being erected, and Infiniti of Lynbrook is moving into that building.
