Police seek two in robbery

Police are searching for two men in connection with a robbery that occurred last week at Smokers Choice on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

According to Nassau County detectives, two black males approached a 54-year-old employee of Smokers Choice on Nov. 20 at 6:15 p.m. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded cash.

The subject then removed the clerk’s wallet, which contained $130, a New York State driver’s license and their Capital One debit and credit card. Before removing cash and lottery tickets from the store, according to Lynbrook Police. The subjects left the scene in an unknown manner with $730, an unknown amount of New York State scratch-off lottery tickets and the clerk’s property, Lynbrook Police said.

The first subject is described as a black male, 25-27 years of age, 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall, thin build, wearing black leather jacket, black mask, black gloves and sunglasses armed with a silver handgun. The second subject is described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5-feet-3-inches to 5-feet 5-inches tall, heavy build, with a moustache wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt.

Arrests

On Nov. 13 at 10:27 p.m., a 54-year-old of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with assault, driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident on Niemann Avenue in Lynbrook.

At 4 p.m. on Nov. 18, a 32-year-old of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with criminal contempt for an incident that occurred on Ocean Avenue in Lynbrook.

A 20-year-old East Rockaway, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Forest Avenue in Lynbrook on Nov. 18 at 5:45 p.m.

On Nov. 18 at 11:15 p.m., a 31-year-old of Arverne, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and an equipment violation in Parking Field #1 located on Columbus Drive in Lynbrook.

At 7:40 p.m. on Nov. 19, a 47-year-old of New York, NY was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Broadway in Lynbrook.
