Crime watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 52-year-old male of South Hempstead was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without an interlock device, failure to wear a seatbelt, operating with a restricted license, failure to comply with a lawful order and seven other violations on Sept. 12 at 4:20 p.m.

On Sept. 12 at 5:55 p.m., a 30-year-old from Hempstead and a 22-year-old from Uniondale were both arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Peninsula Boulevard.

At 1:19 p.m. on Sept. 13, a 37-year-old male of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with operating with a suspended registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating without insurance on Forest Avenue.

A 22-year-old male of Rosedale was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a lane violation, having a defective headlight and an open Nassau County warrant on Taft Avenue on Sept. 13 at 11:38 p.m.

On Sept. 13 at 9:59 p.m., a 42-year-old male of Elmont was arrested after an investigation involving Lynbrook detectives and the Nassau County Police Narcotics Bureau. Charges included possession of a controlled substance (heroin/crack cocaine), sale of a controlled substance (heroin) and an open Nassau County warrant.

At 1:09 a.m. on Sept. 14, a 27-year-old from Queens Village was arrested and charged with a DWI, exceeding the speed limit and possession of an open alcoholic beverage on Sunrise Highway.

A 38-year-old female of East Rockaway was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection on Washington Avenue at 10:48 a.m. on Sept. 14.

On Sept. 14 at 4 p.m., a 45-year-old female of Islip Terrace was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection on Melrose Avenue.

At 7:14 p.m. on Sept. 14, a 40-year-old male of Inwood was arrested and charged with an open Nassau County warrant.

A 34-year-old from Brooklyn was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident on Peninsula Boulevard at 7:14 p.m. on Sept. 14.

On Sept. 16 at 5:40 p.m., a 39-year-old male of St. Albans was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and disobeying a traffic control device on Sunrise Drive.

A 20-year-old male of Valley Stream was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Xanax) and possession of a weapon on Merrick Road at 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 17.

On Sept. 17 at 5:18 p.m., a 19-year-old male of Valley Stream was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Xanax) and unlawful possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.

At 5:10 p.m. on Sept. 17, a male minor of Valley Stream was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.

A 37-year-old male of Brooklyn was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and exceeding the speed limit on Merrick Road at 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 18.

Petit larceny

Someone removed DVDs from the Lynbrook Public Library at 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 15. The total cost of items stolen was approximately $230.

On Sept. 16 at 2:20 p.m., someone removed a rear bumper from a 2013 Ford E250 at Crown Ford on Sunrise Highway. The total cost of the stolen bumper was approximately $500.
