Assemblyman Curran presents annual Veteran’s Hall of Honor

Posted

New York State Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook) hosted his second annual “Veterans Hall of Honor” ceremony, recognizing Lynbrook and East Rockaway residents among the eleven local veterans who have distinguished themselves through bravery, patriotism and commitment. These residents include Jack Barlow, Thomas Caffrey, Nick Camarano, and Shelly Conn.
“Jack, Thomas, Nick, and Shelly’s service to their country is a source of great pride to their families, and is an inspiration to all within our community,” Curran said.  “In their civilian lives, as in their service to our nation, these recipients lead by example. I am honored to recognize these outstanding heroes at my ‘Hall of Honor’ luncheon.”
A highlight of the ceremony was when Curran presented a check of almost $2,000 to Paul Hastings, Ambassador to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Curran raised the funds through his participation in a recent Triathlon.
“I know that every veteran carries his or her own unique story, and I wish I could single out each and every one on this Veteran’s day weekend,” said Curran.  “The reality is that these fine men exemplify all that is great about the many unnamed heroes within our nation’s armed forces, past and present.  I am proud to represent this amazing group of veterans.”
