In 2005, Browning informally proposed to build a Courtyard by Marriott, a Hilton Homewood Suites and three parking facilities in Lynbrook’s downtown. The plan was then scaled back to include one hotel — a Courtyard by Marriott — and one parking structure at the parking lot on Earle Avenue in between Stauderman Avenue and St. James Place. He ultimately withdrew the informal plans in 2006 due to a negative community reaction.
The meeting on July 15 was the first of several public presentations and hearings that would occur if plans for the hotel move forward. According to Village Administrator John Giordano, Browning and Garden will answer the public’s questions again at the Sept. 16 board meeting.
