East Rockaway car show rolling into villlage!

Classic family summer fun is on the way

Now in its fourth year, the Village of East Rockaway/Chamber of Commerce Car Show has seen growth — and its coordinator, Rich Cittadino, hopes to see more and more residents come out to enjoy the cars, the music, some shopping, and each other’s company.

“It was a hard winter,” Cittadino said. “We’ve been through a lot with the storm. People are trying to recover, and we all need something like this to take our mind off of things.”

Cittadino said that he can accept up to 125 cars for on-street display, and is accepting anything from vintage, to classic to “souped up.”

Nearby Villa Maria Italian restaurant, among many other local businesses on Main Street and the surrounding streets, will be open for business. Villa Maria will print a special menu for car owners that will include special pricing.

Cittadino is also planning a special fundraising evening on July 22. This year, the proceeds will go to Camp Anchor. D.J. Kojak will entertain. There will be 50/50 raffles offered.

“I invite people to come out for a night of family fun, listen to good music, and support our local businesses,” he said. The event is sponsored by Collision Depot, 600 Atlantic Ave. in Oceanside.
