East Rockaway pays it forward to O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A

Last Saturday, students and staff at East Rockaway High School raised more than $700 with a 3 ON 3 Basketball Tournament held for Moore, Oklahoma. Twenty-one student and alumni teams participated in the event to help others. A car wash was also held recently to raise funds to “pay it forward.”

The school will be collecting much needed supplies for Moore on Saturday, June 22 at the high school on Ocean Avenue. They will be collecting batteries, flashlights, contractor bags, gloves, moving boxes, towels, hats, brushes, deodorant, dust pans and brooms.

The Centre Avenue Student Council is organizing a “Summer Bag” Drive. Their plan is to assign grades items to be placed in the bags, and then student council will assemble them. The new items should include bathing suits, beach towels, sunscreen, and pull-string bags.
