James Patrick Groark dies

James Patrick Groark, of East Rockaway, died on August 7 at the age of 77.

An architect and an artist, Groark was a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), an adjunct professor at New York Institute of Technology, and a building inspector in East Rockaway. He also served past president of the Lynbrook East Rockaway Lions Club, former chairperson of the Huckleberry Frolic, member of the St. Raymond Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. He was married to Sue Carol for 51 years.

Groark was the devoted father of James Jr., Deborah, and Christopher. He was the loving brother of Charles.

The family plans to develop a foundation and scholarship fund for a young architect in memory of Groark.
