Lynbrook Chamber to roll out Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28

Kicking off the holiday season, the Village of Lynbrook will once again participate in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28, a campaign to encourage residents to support the local economy by shopping in their hometown.

“When you keep your money local in your community,” said Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce President Linda Stephenson, “you’re creating jobs — you’re enabling these small-business owners to give their kids ballet lessons and send their kids to college.”
Many small-business owners say they appreciate the event’s potential impact on commerce for the holidays, and encourage shoppers to stay local as often as possible.
Bill Gaylor Sr., owner of the Lyn Gift and Hallmark Shop on Atlantic Avenue, explained that he has dealt with residents who are unfamiliar with many local businesses. “I’ve had people come into the store and say, ‘I’ve lived in Lynbrook for six years — I’ve never shopped downtown.’”

According to the Chamber of Commerce, parking at meters will be free every Saturday from Small Business Saturday through New Year’s Eve.
