Light Drizzle Fog/Mist Lynbrook, Malverne firefighters take action

Lynbrook firefighter Dan Neri was stopped at a traffic light at Hendrickson Avenue at Franklin Avenue when a car across the intersection burst into flames.
He pulled over, and ran and to get an extinguisher from the Chinese restaurant in the Cross Island Fruits Shopping Center in North Lynbrook.
He was then able to knock down the fire whose flames rose from the rear engine compartment and climbed above the roof.
Malverne firefighters arrived shortly after and used a booster line to wet down the engine compartment. There were no injuries reported.
