Man robbed at knifepoint in Lynbrook

Three men robbed a lone male victim at knifepoint in Lynbrook on Jan. 19, stealing his cell phone and fleeing on foot.
According to Fifth Squad detectives, the robbery occurred at 11 p.m. near 165 Atlantic Ave., when the 28-year old victim was approached by three suspects, one armed with a knife, who demanded the victim give them his property.
One of the suspects took the victim’s phone. All three suspects fled on foot northbound on Atlantic.
No injuries were reported. The first suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 18 to 22 years of age, 5’ 8” tall, with a medium build and medium complexion and a mole on his face. He was wearing dark clothing and was armed with the knife.
Suspect two was a male Hispanic, 18 to 22 years of age, 5’ 8” tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing.
The third suspect was described as a male Black, 18 to 22 years of age, 5’ 8” tall with a medium build, and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and red sweat pants.
The location is approximately one-half mile south of Sunrise Highway, and just steps away from a Lynbrook 7-11 store.

Valley Stream robberies
Two Valley Stream convenience stores were robbed by a man with a large knife two weekends ago, and the details of the robberies, at a 7-Eleven on North Central Avenue early Saturday morning and a Valero gas station on Sunrise Highway the next night, fit the pattern of at least 19 similar crimes reported in and near the village since February.
A man entered the 7-Eleven, at 190 N. Central Ave., brandishing a knife and told the clerk to open the register. The clerk complied, and the suspect took cash and grabbed cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets before fleeing north on Central Avenue. The clerk was alone in the store during the robbery and was not injured.
