Residents rocked in the park last Friday when ROK Health & Fitness hosted its annual event at Oxbow Park in East Rockaway. Activities included Zumba, Sunset Yoga, fitness demonstrations, vendors, refreshments and live entertainment by the G-String Band.

“ROK The Park was another great night of fitness and entertainment,” said co-owner Mike Hawksby. “Bob and I send special thanks to Michael Martino, from United Water, who sponsored the event. They are going to be great partners in the community.” Hawksby added that ROK works with all the village departments to coordinate use of the park, and they are always willing and helpful in every way.

“It’s important for us in this fast and changing world to remember that a healthy community is vital to East Rockaway. Any way that we can get the people out and moving, is what ROK is all about.”

“It’s always a pleasure to see the community join together for such a wonderful event,” said co-owner Bob D’Urso. “Seeing parents, along with their children, having a great time, promoting health and wellness in the community — we couldn’t be any happier doing this for our people.”
