A Village of Valley Stream sanitation worker was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after a dump truck ran over his legs at the village’s public works yard, at 175 Arlington Ave., according to the village.

The worker, who was not identified, apparently walked into the side of the truck, which was moving forward, and fell down. While he was on the ground, the truck’s rear wheels ran over his legs, according to Mayor Ed Fare, who visited the employee at the hospital.

Fare reported that doctors found no broken bones or other serious injuries, and the employee was expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday.
