QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM EACH CANDIDATE

Why did you decide to run for this position?

Nasrin Ahmad: When the position became available, the leadership asked me if I was available to take it on. I said, “These are my friends and my colleagues, and I would love to continue working with them in addition to serving all of the people of the town.” First and foremost, this is a service position, and I am here for the residents.

Jasmine Garcia-Vieux: I am running for office because I live and work in the Town of Hempstead, and therefore have a vested interest in what happens in the community. It is important for us as residents to have legislative voice, but it is just as important to have someone you trust in office local government. That is why I decided to run. I am committed to making the residents’ voices heard.
