Located at the southern tip of Rockville Centre’s bustling Park Avenue, Prime Catch has been serving the community for over five years. While seafood is definitely their specialty, landlubbers will have no trouble finding favorite dishes of their own. On site with a hands-on approach, management blends in with the friendly staff, making sure every aspect of the restaurant is consistently up to par.

Décor is contemporary and striking. A 20-foot high illuminated ceiling offsets stately brick walls and a blue and red color scheme. Up front are a lively bar, large windows, and high tables, separated from the rear dining area. Well-appointed tables make quiet dining easy. And considering the modern milieu, the atmosphere is quite cozy.

The a la carte menu, used both for lunch and dinner, is diverse, with reasonable pricing. Appetizers are $7.95 to $13.95; soups and salads are $5.95 to $7.95. The raw bar, serving clams, oysters, and ceviche, is $7.99 to $15.99. Entrees (seafood, steaks, surf ‘n turf, and chicken) run from $15.95 for Fish and Chips or Chicken Scampi, to $23.95 for Prime Catch Seafood Explosion or Grilled Skirt Steak. Grilled Angus Filet Mignon is $29.95, and Twin Lobster Tails are market priced. Entrees come with rice, potato or vegetable. From Sunday through Thursday, they offer a three-course (appetizer, entrée and dessert) meal for $23.95, with amazing choices.

Happy Hour at Prime Catch is beyond extended – noon to 7 p.m. everyday. There’s a “Fun Bar Menu” with great options – from $8.95 for Shrimp Dumplings or Chicken Wings or Fingers, to $15.95 for the PC Sampler Platter, or Steak Tidbits on mini garlic rolls. Eats at the bar are priced lower.

Appetizers arrived with warm rolls and butter. Stuffed Silver Dollar Mushroom – four large caps – were filled with spinach and Gorgonzola cheese, finished with a savory Marsala reduction. Prime Catch Crab Cakes – two nice-sized patties – were light and meaty, topped with pineapple mango salsa, a curry oil drizzle, served over horseradish sauce.
