Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

A 63-year-old Inwood man was arrested on Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, using a handheld phone while operating a vehicle and no inspection on Broadway.

A 24-year-old Queens resident was arrested on Aug. 18 at 6:58 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and possession of marijuana on Union Avenue.

A 36-year-old Queens man was arrested on Aug. 21 at 9:14 a.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operator and improper signal on Peninsula Boulevard.

Petit larceny

A complainant reports that on Aug. 16 at 4:15 p.m., a suspect stole his men’s Black and Green Fuji Bicycle, which was locked at the Lynbrook Long Island Rail Road Station bicycle rack. Total loss is about $350.

A complainant reports that a suspect stole a pair of Chanel reading glasses and a pair of black Ray Ban glasses from her car, which was parked in a driveway on Treadwell Avenue, between 11 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 7:40 a.m. on Aug. 21. The total loss is about $800.

Grand larceny

A complainant reports that a suspect stole the tires and rims of his car, which was parked in a driveway on Hawthorn Street between 11 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 21. Total loss is approximately $2,000.

Leaving the scene of an accident

A complainant reports that upon returning to her vehicle, which was parked at 30 Doxsey Place, she discovered that another vehicle had struck her car on Aug. 17 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. and left the scene without a report. The damage is about $2,000.
