Arrests

A 19-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested on Jan. 30 at 12:40 a.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance on Merrick Road.
On Jan. 30 at 2:05 p.m., a 32-year-old Hewlett man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and fractured glass on Watkins Street.
A 24-year-old North Bellmore man was arrested on Jan. 31 at 9:50 a.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to wear a seat belt on Ocean Avenue.

At 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 1, a 34-year-old Hempstead man was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operator, unregistered motor vehicle and failure to signal on Peninsula Boulevard.
A 25-year-old Lynbrook man was found by police and arrested on Feb. 1 at 6:50 p.m. He was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operator stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 30 on Merton Avenue.
A 49-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested on Feb. 3 at 2 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident on Endview Avenue.
On Feb. 3 at 9:48 a.m., a 53-year-old Franklin Square man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator, operating a vehicle with no insurance and no inspection on Ocean Avenue.
A 36-year-old Hempstead man was arrested on Feb. 3 at 4:05 p.m. and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to wear a seat belt on Sunrise Highway.
At 10:56 a.m. on Feb. 4, a 34-year-old Roosevelt man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator, defective stop lamps and obstructed view on Hempstead Avenue.

Grand larceny


A manager at Rite Aid, at 400 Sunrise Highway, reported that on Jan. 26 at 3:40 p.m., she found the back door open. After reviewing security tapes, she discovered that at around 3:05 p.m. that day, an unidentified man broke into the employee stockroom and stole many items. He was described as a light-skinned Hispanic in his mid 30s, and was wearing a baseball cap, an orange construction vest, dark jeans, a long grey shirt and black Nike sneakers. The total loss was valued at over $1,000.

The owner of The Owens Logistic Group, Inc., at 3 Huntington Ave., reported that on Feb. 2 at 11:20 a.m., an unknown person cashed a fraudulent business check in the amount of $7,330.

Petit larceny

A Lynbrook resident reported that on Jan. 31 between 8:15 and 10:40 p.m., an unknown person stole both side view mirrors and damaged his 2008 Toyota Tacoma truck while it was parked on Vincent Avenue. Total damages and loss is about $200.
