Game night at the library

Children ages 5 and older can play games at the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library with their family members from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 14.

Bow Wow Luau fundraiser

Come and see local vendors and rescue groups, participate in luau festivities and win raffle prizes at the Valley Stream Dog Park on June 16 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Strawberry and ice cream social

The Valley Stream Historical Society will be holding a strawberry and ice cream social on June 20 at 7:15 p.m. at the Valley Stream Community Center. The fee is $3 per person.

Welcoming our feathered friends

Sands Point Preserve is hosting a birdhouse building workshop to salute Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, 10 -11:30 a.m. and 12-3 p.m. Create and decorate your own birdhouse to take home to your garden. Groovin’ to the Fab Four

Penny Lane, the popular Beatles tribute band visits Planting Fields Aboretum, on Saturday, June 16, at 6 p.m. with their “Beatles Experience.” Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and even a picnic and enjoy some great tunes amidst Planting Planting Fields lush grounds.
