Midreshet Shalhevet High School helps homeless women

Just before Yom Kippur, Midreshet Shalhevet High School students packed supplies they collected and were donated by the Oppenheim family to help more than 250 homeless women.

Knowing that it’s important to give tzedakah (charity) during aseret yemei teshuva — the 10 days of repentance between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur — students at the North Woodmere school led by senior and General Organization president, Sarah Austin, the students collected supplies for donation to women’s shelters. At the packing event, Rabbi Pesach Chait spoke about the importance of charity.
