Lynbrook man airlifted after being seriously injured in Hampton Bays motorcycle crash

A Lynbrook man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Hampton Bays on Tuesday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, John Scifo, 57, had to be airlifted to the hospital after he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a Jeep driven by Tatiana Huertas, 30, of Hampton Bays. Police said the crash occurred at 11:36 a.m. at the intersection of Red Creek and Hildreth roads, and the motorcycle ended up underneath the Jeep.

Huertas had four other people in her car, but no injuries were reported to her or the passengers in her vehicle. No charges were filed, police said.

Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene. Scifo was airlifted by Suffolk County police to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
