Patriotic celebration and parade
Visit the Lakeview Public Library for early patriotic celebration on Thursday, May 24, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The library has planned an afternoon of patriotic activities to go along with a march. Malverne’s Memorial Day Parade
Join the Village of Malverne for their annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 28, at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Church Street, and a memorial ceremony will begin shortly after in the gazebo at Chester A. Reese Veterans Memorial Park. Info: (516) 599-1200.


West Hempstead Memorial Day Parade
Take time to remember local veterans at West Hempstead’s Memorial Parade on Monday, May 28, at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at St. Thomas the Apostle Chapel along Hempstead Ave. to Roosevelt Blvd., and will end at the Echo Park Parking Field. A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in the Echo Park Community Meeting Room. In case of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled, but the ceremony will still take place. Info: (516) 515-6274.

An artful Saturday
All ages are invited to can explore their creativity at Nassau County Museum of Art’s Studio Saturday, May 26, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Come by the Manes Center to create projects and work inspired by the art on view in the current exhibition, “Anything Goes: The Jazz Age.” Spend up to an hour exploring a range of materials, techniques, and themes. The Beatles reinterpreted
Classic Albums Live, the celebrated tribute band, gives the all-star treatment to “The White Album,” live, on stage — note for note, cut for cut, when they visit the area, on Thursday, May 31, at 8 p.m. They deliver a completely faithful rendition of the celebrated album, without gimmickry.
