Remembering John Lennon
The beloved Beatle is honored with an all-star tribute at a special weekend-long festival devoted to the lad from Liverpool and his music in celebration of his Oct. 9 birthday. The Classic Albums Live band returns to the area performing “The White Album” on Oct. 5 and “Let It Be” the following day. The re-creations of these acclaimed albums – note for note, cut for cut – are the highlight of the weekend-long event that includes a pre-performance screening of the documentary “Imagine: John Lennon” and exclusive Beatles memorabilia in the Tilles Center Atrium.

Parrot Expo 2012
See birds, birds and more birds at the annual Parrot Expo, presented by the Long Island Parrot Society. There’s fun for all with educational presentations, interactive displays, “parrotphernalia,” children’s activities, and those many birds to see and adopt. Meet avian behavior expert Lara Joseph, who gives two sessions on parrot behavior management, along with avian veterinarians and other parrot authorities.
