An unidentified male burglarized an Elmont home after posing as a UPS deliveryman and tying up two females that were inside the Barbara Street residence on April 23, police say.

According to 4th Squad detectives, a slim, 6’ tall, black male, 20-25 years-old, dressed up in a brown UPS jacket, jeans and a brown skull cap rang the doorbell of the Elmont home while holding a box. A 35-year-old female, at home with her infant son and another female, 52, answered the door and was shown a handgun by the suspect. He entered the home and tied both women up with plastic ties.

The suspect then searched the home and took an undetermined amount of jewelry, credit cards, liquor and other belongings before fleeing on foot, north on Barbara Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
