Expo educates students on career options

Elmont Memorial High School students received information on Sewanhaka Central High School District’s Career & Technical Education course offerings at a recent Career Expo held at their school.

The Expo, one of five organized at the district’s high school buildings, gave students a preliminary look at classes available through the Career & Technical Department, which is housed at Sewanhaka High School.

At the event, Elmont students were visited by teachers and students from the program, who answered questions regarding the courses available. The students were given information on the application process and were invited to contact their guidance counselors to discuss the opportunity further.

The Career & Technical Education department will be holding an orientation for interested students and their families on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Sewanhaka High School Auditorium.
