Man wanted in Elmont grand larceny case

The Nassau County Police Department and Crime Stoppers are searching for a man wanted in connection with a case of grand larceny that occurred in Elmont earlier this year.

Police say that between noon on March 11 and 2:30 p.m. March 27, there were 40 catalytic converters stolen from new 2013 Volkswagen Jetta and Volkswagen Golf cars. The cars were being stored in a parking field at the Belmont Racetrack.

The unknown man was caught on video surveillance during the crime and may have fled in a silver or gray Toyota. The license plate of that car is unknown.
