A Rosedale man was arrested on April 14 for what police said were a series of purchases made with re-encoded credit cards in 2012 at Pep Boys locations in Elmont and Baldwin.

According to the Nassau County Crimes Against Property Squad, Kevin Thomas, 27, of 245-12 149th Drive, used re-encoded credit cards between Aug. 8 and Nov. 17, 2012 to make purchases at the Pep Boys location on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont and on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin. As a result, Pep Boys suffered a total loss of more than $100,000, according to police. Thomas was arrested at 11:25 a.m. at Queens Criminal Court, where he was being arraigned for an unrelated charge.
