Robbery at Elmont gas station

Nassau Police and its Major Case Bureau report the arrests of three men for robbery that occurred in Elmont early this morning at 2:01 a.m. on Dec. 22.

According to Robbery Squad detectives, Marion Singletary, 37, of Hempstead entered the Gulf Gas Station located at 236-01 Linden Boulevard and pointed what appeared to be a shotgun at a 37-year-old male clerk demanding cash from the register. 

After complying, the victim also handed over cash from his wallet. The defendant then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money and 2 packs of cigarettes. A Fifth Precinct Police Officer in the area observed the defendant running into a 2011 Black Infinity driven by defendant Gregory Williamson, 23, of Laurelton, and front passenger Albert Brady, 33, also of Hempstead. They drove away east on the Southern State Parkway. 

Another Fifth Precinct Police Officer who was alerted on his radio that a robbery had just occurred, observed and attempted to stop the vehicle by activating lights and siren in the vicinity of exit 13 on the Southern State Parkway. The defendants, refusing to stop, sped away and exited Fletcher Avenue at which time they lost control and struck a tree in the Valley Stream State Park. All three defendants ran away but were located a short time later on Lynwood Place in Valley Stream. 

All three defendants were placed into police custody without incident. Singletary was transported to a nearby hospital and is being treated for a fractured pelvis.

All three men are charged with Robbery 1st and 2nd degrees. Brady is additionally charged with an open warrant for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, (refusal). Singletary is being charged with 3 additional Robbery Charges 1st Degree-- Two robberies that occurred in Uniondale and one in Westbury.  

Brady and Williamson will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday. Singletary will be arraigned when medically practical.
