Three young Israeli musicians, who call themselves the Prototip Trio, bring their innovative approach to classical masterworks to the Madison Theatre, on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m., at Molloy College.

The energetic ensemble – comprised of Grammy nominated mandolin player Avi Avital, harpist Sivan Magen and Nadav Len on guitar – create a sound that is balanced and unified, yet colorful and diverse. With their high level of ensemble playing, Prototip is the plucked string version of familiar chamber ensemble prototypes such as the string quartet and the wind quintet.
