Fourth Annual Larry Elovich 5K Fun Run

On Saturday, July 30 at 9 a.m. on the boardwalk at New York Avenue, the City of Long Beach will host the Fourth Annual Larry Elovich 5K Fun Run. Race day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The suggested donation is $20 (make checks payable to the Larry Elovich Scholarship Fund). Nickerson Beach Movie Night - Megamind

On Sunday, July 31 at 8:20 p.m., Movie Nights at Nickerson Beach, which are sponsored by Long Island’s K98.3, will continue with a showing of “Megamind.” The film is rated PG (95 min) and will be shown on the West Terrace. All films will begin at sunset. There is no formal seating at Nickerson Beach Park, so moviegoers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets. Farmers Market at Kennedy Plaza

Visit the Kennedy Plaza Farmers Market at 1 West Chester St. through Nov. 23, on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For 10 years, the popular market, which runs through Nov. 23, has featured regional producers offering fresh products including organic vegetables, corn, heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, fresh fruits and juices, cheese, milk, wine, pasta, pickles, smoked pork, soaps and preserves, shellfish and regional fish, baked goods and more.
