Franklin Square residents lined Franklin Avenue on Sept. 14 for the Kiwanis’ biannual street fair.

“It was one of the largest attended street fairs in years,” said Carl Gerrato, the club’s distinguished past president and current board member. “There were a lot of people in the street.”

He added that this was the first time since 2000 that the Kiwanis held the street fair on a Saturday rather than a Sunday, and “we had such a positive reaction from the vendors as well as the residents.”

The fair featured 90 vendors from Craft-A-Fair, a carnival and a small car show.
