North Bellmore schools transportation deadline approaching

Posted

The North Bellmore School District provides transportation for students who are residents of the district in grades K-3 living a distance greater than a half mile up to 15 miles and grades 4-6 living a distance greater than one mile up to 15 miles from the schools they attend.

Transportation to a day care provider living within the district may be provided under certain circumstances. Please contact the business office/transportation department prior to April 1 if you have questions, at (516) 992-3000 ext. 3017.

The same provisions for transportation of public school children apply to children within the district who attend private or parochial schools and are residents of North Bellmore.

In order to be eligible for transportation to a private or parochial school, the parent or guardian must have registered with the district and must make a written request for such transportation prior to April 1 of each school year. This will enable the school district to budget the necessary funds to provide this transportation the following September. A Transportation Application for Non-Public Schools can be found on the North Bellmore website at: www.northbellmoreschools.org.

Requests should be addressed to the: Business Office / Transportation Department; North Bellmore Union Free School District, 2616 Martin Avenue, Bellmore, New York, 11710.

Applications for students entering the Middle School (grades 7-8) or High School (grades 9-12) can be obtained on the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD website or by calling (516) 992-1024.
