Police: robbery attempt in Franklin Square

Nassau Police are reporting that an attempted robbery occurred in Franklin Square on Monday at 10:31 a.m.

According to police, a man armed with a small knife approached another man, 21, who was walking near Franklin Street and Hempstead Turnpike, and demanded he empty his pockets. He refused and instead ran away. The subject did not pursue him.

No injuries were reported.


The subject is described as a man with short hair or possibly bald, bearded, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. No further description is available at this time.
