Second Chinese food deliverer assaulted and robbed in V.S.

For the second time in 10 days, a Chinese food deliverer was assaulted and robbed in Valley Stream, Nassau County police said.

According to the police, the 45-year-old male victim was attempting to deliver food from the Taste of China restaurant in Elmont to a Warner Road residence in North Valley Stream on Aug. 28 at 9:35 p.m. He was then reportedly approached by two black males who began assaulting him and stole an undetermined amount of cash and his cell phone. The suspects then stole the victim’s 2016 Toyota Rav4. They were last seen traveling eastbound on Dutch Broadway.

The victim, who suffered minor injuries, described the suspects as being 16 to 20 years old, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall and with slight builds.


The assault and robbery comes more than one week after a female Chinese food deliverer was assaulted and robbed while she was delivering food from the China Dragon Kitchen restaurant in Elmont to an Arkansas Drive residence in Valley Stream. The victim was allegedly assaulted by three black men, who then stole her food and phone and drove away in her small SUV. She suffered slight abrasions to her legs and arms.

She described the victims as from 16 to 20 years old and between and 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet tall.
