Arrested for burglary of Inwood house

Inwood resident Jaquan Grandy, 23, of Grand Central Place, was arrested on Monday for the same day burglary of a Janet Avenue home, also in Inwood, police said.

Grandy forced his way through the front door at 11:55 p.m., and as he entered the house pushed the woman resident, 68, into the hone and ran upstairs, according to police. The woman left the house, and a neighbor who saw Grandy go into the residence called 911.

Fourth Precinct officers responded and arrested Grandy. No injuries were reported.

He is charged with burglary third-degree, criminal mischief third-degree and attempted assault third-degree. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Feb. 14.
