A Far Rockaway man who lured a 7-year-old girl into his car and then told the child’s father what he had done was arrested a little more than an hour later shortly after the incident occurred last Saturday at 1:40 p.m.
Police said that Yan Kossa, 39, of Beach 31st Street, was worshipping at the Chabad of the Five Towns at 74 Maple Ave. in Cedarhurst, when he allegedly approached the girl and asked her if she wanted to go outside with him.
Kossa led the girl outside and put her into his vehicle, according to police. He then went back into the Chabad building and informed the girl’s father what he had done. The child was found safe inside the car parked on Maple Avenue.
Charged with unlawful imprisonment-second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, Kossa was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
