Five Towns talent show to benefit SULAM-LI

A dozen talented Five Towns residents will compete in the “Five Towns Got Talent” show sponsored by SULAM-LI at the Sephardic Temple at 775 Branch Blvd. in Cedarhurst on March 9 beginning at 7:45 p.m.

During the past decade, SULAM-LI, the religious school for Jewish children with special needs, has sponsored many entertainment programs that have raised money to help enable those kids to explore their cultural heritage.

The talent show will be hosted by Lawrence resident and Herald columnist Ron Goldman. It will showcase contestants who have appeared on MTV and NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” performed for presidents, sung the national anthem at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field, headlined at major clubs and concert halls, and at international venues. One of SULAM-LI’s students will also sing in the show.

Along with the entertainment there will be hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and desserts at the Saturday night event. Cast your vote for your favorite performer and assist our panel of judges — Kenny Gluck, Stuart Rauch, Jaime Lynn Wysocki — in crowning the winner.

Tickets for the show ($100 per person and $50 for students) and raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes such as two nights at the Carlton Hotel, tickets to a Yankee game, a professional photographic studio and jewelry are available by calling SULAM-LI Board President Dena Stein at (516) 449-6678.
