Jermaine Zied, 17, of Brunswick Avenue in Far Rockaway, allegedly used counterfeit money to purchase clothing from another teenager in Woodmere on Thursday, police said.

Zied met with the teen, 16, outside the CVS at 929 Broadway in Woodmere at 12:40 p.m. and paid the person with five $100 bills, one $20 bill and a $10 bill, according to police.

After the transaction was completed, the teen then noticed that two of the bills had the identical serial number. He then confronted Zied and chased him to the intersection of Church and Carlyle avenues.

Fourth Precinct officer responded to the location based on a report of a disturbance and arrested Zied. He was found to have five other counterfeit $100 bills.

Zied is charged with 10 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on May 27.
