Two weeks before their season-opening game at Hofstra University, the New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse and the Israeli national team scrimmaged at Hewlett High School on April 13.
The afternoon practice included three alums of the school: Steve DeNapoli and Max Seibald, both midfielders for the Lizards, and Eytan Saperstein, a defenseman from the Israeli squad. DeNapoli also coaches lacrosse at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville.
This Sunday, the Lizards begin their 14th season against Rochester Rattlers at Hofstra University at 6 p.m.
