Honoring Gio, celebrating Love Remembers Day

In remembrance of Lynbrook resident Giovanni Cipriano, a former Lawrence Public Schools student who was attending Holy Trinity High School and died on Oct. 18 due to an allergic reaction after eating a peanut product, his mother, Georgina Cornago Cipriano, organized a day of reflection and awareness on Sunday, March 30.

Beginning at Lawrence Middle School at 195 Broadway in Lawrence, teal and gold ribbons were pinned to trees throughout the Five Towns, Lynbrook, East Rockaway and other communities that joined to commemorate the inaugural Love Remembers Day on March 31 that is dedicated to those who died due to anaphylaxis — the most serious type of allergic reaction.
