Inclement weather on Monday has forced the cancellation of both the Hewlett-Woodmere and Lawrence-Cedarhurst Memorial Day parades.

The expected inclement weather, rain for a majority of Monday, has forced officials to cancel the the Hewlett-Woodmere and Lawrence-Cedarhurst Memorial Day parades, including the post-parade events.
"It is with great regret, that we must inform you, the 2016 Hewlett-Woodmere Memorial Day Parade has been canceled due to bad weather. After conferring with the Police and Fire Departments, as well as the School District and other participants, we feel that the safety of the students and others marching must be our first priority," Hewlett Woodmere Business Association President David Friedman wrote in an email,
