Lloyd Jacob Taub, 85

Loved relaxing on his ‘beach’

A Corona beer advertisement says “find your beach.” Atlantic Beach resident Lloyd Jacob Taub found his. “You could always find him on Genesse resident beach in Atlantic Beach right up the block from our house,” said Taub’s wife, Linda. “He had his spot on the beach.”
Taub died with his family by his side in Valley Stream on Jan. 10. He was 85.
He started his career in ladies sportswear and was with Rousso Apparel Group in Manhattan up until his retirement seven years ago. Taub was the vice president of sales at Rousso for 35 years. Commuting all those years was made easier by the daily gin game he played with fellow passengers who became longtime friends.
His other “beaches” were relaxing with family and friends or playing golf or watching sports.
Taub is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Wirtzburger Taub, his best friend; and his children: Hillary Rosenweig, Bennet and Anne Taub, Amy Taub Kahn, Michele and Jeff Kahan and Lori Terban. Taub was also a grandfather of 14; Raymond, Maddie and Charlie Taub, Becky, Dylan and Mason Rosensweig, Allison, Brian and Josh Kahan, Alexandra, Danielle and Ricki Kahn and Ashley and Amanda Terban.
A service was held at Boulevard-Riverside Chapel in Hewlett on Jan. 12, and he was interred at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont that Monday.
