Man assaulted and robbed of cell phone in Inwood

A group of six men, described as black between the ages of 16 to 18, allegedly attacked and punched a 26-year-old man on Morris Avenue in Inwood at 6:36 p.m. on Nov. 3, according to police.
Following the initial attack, the man was able to run away for a few blocks before the group caught up with him and beat him and took his cell phone, police said.
The man finally did flee his attackers and ran down Mervin Street. He suffered minor injuries, police said. The alleged attackers took off. Their direction unknown.
