Man assaulted, cell phone stolen in Inwood

A 37-year-old man was beat up and had his cell phone taken by six men, while he was walking on Mott Avenue in Inwood on Monday at 6:05 a.m., police said.
According to police, the half dozen men punched and kicked the man until he fell to the ground, then one of them grabbed the phone from the man’s pocket, according to police.
The men, described as black, ranging in age from 15 to 20 and all wearing dark clothing took off on foot. Their direction was not known. The man suffered cuts to his face and was taken by Nassau County police ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
