Two women and one man were injured in a two-car crash at the intersection of Nassau Expressway and Bay Boulevard in Lawrence at 3 p.m. on Sept. 15, according to Lawrence-Cedarhurst Chief John McHugh.

The women were in the same car and firefighters had to use the “Jaws of Life” to pry the passenger side door open to rescue one woman. She was taken to a local hospital by LCFD ambulance. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle.

Nassau County police and Meadowmere Park firefighters took the other woman and the man to area hospitals. All are expected to recover from their injuries, officials said.
