Photo exhibit at Temple Israel remembers refugees, commemorates Holocaust

In commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Temple Israel of Lawrence at 140 Central Ave. in Lawrence will present a photo exhibit “Jewish Refugees in Cyprus en Route to Israel” on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

It depicts the struggle of refugees after the Shoah in making their way to Palestine. The Consulate General of Cyprus in New York mounted the exhibit, with assistance from Consulate General of Israel in New York, AJC Long Island and Temple Israel. Cyprus Ambassador Vasilios Philippou and Amir Sagie, deputy Consul General of Israel, will speak. RSVP to (516) 239-1140 or email alan@templisrael-lawrence.org.
